Rail Trail supporters following the announcement of state funding

FUNDING FOR RAIL TRAIL
There was an atmosphere of excitement at Bangalow Railway Station last week when the Minister for Tourism John Barilaro announced that the Northern Rivers Rail Trail will share in $50 million to build 2 pilot rail trail projects in NSW. The money will come from the $110 million Regional Tourism Infastructure Fund. Mr Barilaro said “the Murwillumbah to Casino rail trail was the perfect project to show the rest of the state how it could be done.”

The president of the NRRT group Pat Grier predicts that the rail trail could become one of the world’s best.
It would provide a world class tourist experience as well as a wonderful trail for locals to use. It is anticipated that new businesses will be created along the trail resulting in many job opportunities for locals.
